Food analysis

Our food analysis services include but are not limited to the following:

Analysis of food stuffs

  • Virological analysis: COVID-19 surface sampling and detection.
  • Microbiological analysis: Salmonella, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Listeria monocytogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Total Coliforms etc.
  • Analysis of fungus: Yeasts and moulds.
  • Physical and chemical analysis: Turbidity, Nitrates, Conductivity, pH, total suspended solids, BOD, COD, etc.

Hazard analysis critical control Point (HACCP)

It is mandatory for most business operators offering food products on the EU market to follow procedures based on HACCP. The aim of HACCP procedures is to implement, control and manage food safety and thus protect consumers from any associated risks or hazards.

 

EMS Ltd can consult and guide restaurants and other catering establishments on the protocols needed to be carried out to ensure that procedures are in compliance with EU HACCP regulations.

Nutritional analysis of food items

  • EMS ltd provides quick and cost-effective analysis of nutritional parameters, minerals and vitamins. Our laboratory meets the requirements for nutritional labelling information according to the regulations (EU) No 1169/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2011.
  • Nutritional information on processed foods
  • Origin labelling of fresh meat from pigs, sheep, goats and poultry
  • Highlighting allergens e.g. peanuts or milk in the list of ingredients
  • Better legibility i.e. minimum size of text
  • Requirements on information on allergens also cover non pre=packed foods including those sold in restaurants.
  • Contamination analysis and food authenticity.
Producers must verify and declare parameters in this required range:
energy value and the amount of fat, saturates, carbohydrates, sugars, protein and salt.
Mandatory parameters are included in our method, called BIG 7 package.

Accreditation

Our food and pharmaceutical laboratories meet the requirements according to CSN ISO/IEC 17025 and hold valid Certificate of Accreditation No. 1173 by the Czech Accreditation Institute which is recognised by international accreditation organisations and certification authorities in the agreement on mutual recognition of the results.
